The app
FilmCraft is made by the ArtCraft team and contributors and published at github.com/storytold/filmcraft. It is dual-licensed under the MIT License or the Apache License 2.0, at your option. Copyright © 2026 ArtCraft Team and the FilmCraft contributors. Its bundled fonts and other assets keep their own open licenses; the web build ships the OFL license texts of its Japanese fonts.
This site serves the official web build from each GitHub release without modification. The current build is v0.6.0; its zip matched the release’s published SHA-256 checksum (9fd024d371075dc8bb0d868c0f162b60743d28db16d010e2f61b41927ea96629). The license texts ship with it: LICENSE-MIT, LICENSE-APACHE.
Every file of the build is served exactly as released. The only difference is where one of them lives: the app’s WebAssembly file (filmcraft_web_bg.wasm, 43 MB) is larger than our host allows for static files, so it is stored in Cloudflare R2 and served at the same address, /app/filmcraft_web_bg.wasm, with the same bytes (SHA-256 8f17c92624ce54c56fd14807bbb76e1fb38eefe05d58aa94c81ee0b2262bddc0). The two sample header files in the zip, meant for other hosts, are replaced by our own server settings, which follow the build’s hosting notes.

What we add
- The page around the editor, the AI panel (which runs in your browser on your own API key) and these guides.
- Our own logo and design. They are not ArtCraft or FilmCraft marks.
Screenshots
Product screenshots are from the FilmCraft repository’s docs/images, where they are listed as original work by the FilmCraft contributors under MIT OR Apache-2.0. We resized them and converted them to WebP:

The footage visible in them is in the public domain: NASA’s Apollo 11 film and Earth Views from the ISS (NASA does not endorse this project or this site), and the films Night of the Living Dead (1968), Carnival of Souls (1962) and Charade (1963). The music shown as waveforms is Chopin performed for Musopen, released under CC0.
Report a problem
Bugs in the app itself belong in the FilmCraft issue tracker, which the FilmCraft developers read. Please mention there that you used the web build. Problems with this site or the AI panel: contact@filmcraft.run.
